Two lives,
one journey

We found each other across borders and cultures, much like the land where we'll say our vows — a place where Italy and Slovenia meet in the golden Collio hills.

Our story began with a spark in Boston — the kind that stops you in your tracks and makes the rest of the world go quiet. Jana had made her way from Slovenia, through the mountains of Switzerland, and all the way across the Atlantic. Noah, with his French-American soul and big heart, was right where he was supposed to be. Between his croissants and her potica, we somehow made it work.

What followed was an adventure of catching flights, eating our way around the world and creating memories. Two worlds, one story — and on June 26, 2027, we're making it official in the most fitting place we could imagine: just about half way between Slovenia and France where vines meet the sky.

»Zato me že stotič poljubiš kot prvič in najina zgodba se znova začenja.« "And so you kiss me for the hundredth time as if it were the first, and our story begins again." — Feri Lainšček, Ti veš

We cannot wait to celebrate with you.

Baronesse Tacco

Nestled atop the Collio hills at 270 metres above sea level, the Azienda Agricola Baronesse Tacco is a historic estate dating back to the 14th century — a former castle that has been lovingly held by the Tacco family for over 600 years.

Its panoramic terraces overlook the valley where vines melt into the sky, and a small chapel sits quietly within the ancient walls. There is nowhere quite like it.

Travel & Accommodation

San Floriano del Collio sits at the crossroads of Italy and Slovenia, making it surprisingly easy to reach from across Europe. We recommend making a long weekend of it — the Collio wine region, Venice and Trieste, but mostly the hidden pearl of the Balkans, Slovenia, are all waiting to be explored.

✈️

By Air

Trieste (TRS) is the closest airport, about 30 km away. Venice Marco Polo (VCE) and Ljubljana (LJU) are excellent alternatives, both around 1.5 hours by car. From any of these, we recommend hiring a car.

The scenic drive through the Collio vineyards is a treat in itself — plan to take it slow! Please note that parking at the venue is very limited, so we strongly encourage guests to make use of our shuttle service.

We will have drivers going back and forth between the venue and pickup points in Gorizia, Nova Gorica and the local hotels and B&Bs throughout the evening. More details on pickup times and locations will follow closer to the date!

Exploring Slovenia

Since you're making the trip, why not make the most of it? Jana has spent a lifetime exploring her beautiful homeland and has put together her personal guide to help you discover the best of Slovenia — from the mountains to the coast.

General tip: rent a car. Public transport between cities is limited — but once you're behind the wheel, the whole country opens up.

Central Slovenia

Ljubljana

The compact, charming capital is the perfect starting point. Visit the Castle (cable car or walk up), stroll across the famous Tromostovje (three bridges by architect Plečnik), spot the Dragon Bridge, and take a boat ride on the river. If you're there on a Friday, don't miss Odprta kuhna — an open-air food festival with stands from the city's best restaurants.

Jana's picks

🏨 Vander Urbani Resort (rooftop pool!) · Art Hotel · Hotel Cubo · Zlata ladjica · Riverside Apartments · Hotel Heritage
🍳 Brunch: Le Petit Cafe, Tozd, Bistro EK
🍷 Aperitivo: Slovenska hiša, Dvorni bar, Vander, Wine bar Šuklje, Vinoteka Movia
🍽️ Dinner: Aftr, Vino & ribe, Julija, Cevabdžinica Sarajevo 84 (try the čevapčiči!), Bazilika (vegetarian/vegan)
⭐ Fine dining: Restaurant Strelec, Valvas'or, JB Restaurant
🍦 Sweets: Zvezda (best cakes), Cacao (ice cream), Pâtisserie Yauya

Gorenjska · Jana's favourite

Lake Bled & Kranjska Gora

Lake Bled is Slovenia's most iconic spot — hike up to Mala Osojnica for the best views, rent a rowboat to the island church and ring the bell for good luck. Spend two days here and don't miss the stunning Vintgar Gorge nearby.

Nestled beneath the Julian Alps, Kranjska Gora is a paradise for anyone who loves the outdoors. Watch the sunset melt over Zelenci nature reserve, or channel your inner Slovenian Eagle and zip line down the legendary Planica ski jump ramp. For something gentler, a hike through the Tamar Valley or up to Koča v Krnici rewards you with mountain stillness and a plate of štruklji or ričet that tastes all the better for the effort. If you're up for a bigger adventure, the trail to Aljažev dom past the Peričnik waterfall is breathtaking — doable by bike too, though an e-bike is warmly recommended! Pause for a coffee by the shores of Lake Jasna, and if the legs are still willing, a short cycle into Italy to the mirror-still Laghi di Fusine is well worth it.

Jana's picks

🏨 Bled: Hotel Triglav, Vila Bled (Tito's former residence!), Rose Hotel, Hotel Kompas
🏨 Kr.Gora: Hotel Kranjska Gora, Hotel Spik, Chalet Sofia (fancy!), Hotel Alpina, Hotel Kotnik, Boutique Hotel Milka
🍽️ Bled: Bled Castle restaurant
🍽️ Kr.Gora: Gostilna Martin (try štruklji!), Lačni Kekec (ask for the baby ribs — not on the menu!)
💡 Tip: hike up to Koča v Krnici and reward yourself with štruklji at the hut — one of Jana's favourite things to do!
⭐ Fine dining: Milka (2 Michelin stars)
🥞 Must try: štruklji, šmorn, ajdovi žganci, jota

Primorska

Soča Valley

Cross the dramatic Vršič Pass from Kranjska Gora (stop at the Russian Chapel on the way up, cuddle some sheep at the top!), descend into the emerald Soča valley. Or spend the night on the top, overlooking the surrounding snow covered peaks and enjoy a hike or two in Slovenian mountains. See the Spring of the Soča river, and gorges of river Mlinarica on descent to Bovec. Visit the pearl of Slovenia, the beautiful Soča river and its gorges. Bovec is the right place to get the adrenaline flowing — from zip line to water sports (rafting, canyoning), there is something for everyone. Alternatively you can explore the region on a bicycle, visit some of the waterfalls in the area (waterfall Boka) or get your history itch scratched by visiting WW1 history at the Kolovrat bunkers near Tolmin.

Jana's picks

🏨 Hotel Boka (great food, waterfall views) · Hotel Soča · Kekčeva Dežela · Poštarjev dom (mountain hut on Vršič!) · Tičarjev dom (mountain hut at the top of Vršič!)
🍽️ Hiša Polonka (Kobarid) — traditional Slovenian aperitivo
⭐ Hiša Franko — Ana Roš's 3 Michelin star restaurant
(book months in advance, stay the night!)

Primorska

Seaside & Piran

Slovenia's coast is small but charming, and every bit worth the detour. Piran is the jewel — a beautiful Venetian-style old town with winding stone streets, a lovely main square (Tartinijev trg), and a church tower with panoramic views. Rent a boat with a skipper for a half-day on the water. The cycling trails between Strunjan, Izola, Koper and Piran — through vineyards and olive groves — are truly beautiful. On the way, stop in Trieste for an espresso and a wander.

Jana's picks

🏨 Hotel Salinera, Strunjan (great cycling base) · Hotel Laguna Terme Krka, Strunjan (lovely spa!) · Hotel Piran (right on the seafront in the old town) · Kempinski Palace Portorož (splash out!)
🍽️ Hiša Torkla (Jana's favourite — worth the curvy road!)
🍽️ Konoba Porto (good pasta & pizza, great value)
🍽️ Cabra, Koper (great spot!)
⭐ Fine dining: Restaurant Sophia at Kempinski Palace (Michelin-recommended)
🍦 Cacao (ice cream — same as Ljubljana!)

💡 Jana's route tip: Start in Ljubljana → Bled & Kranjska Gora → cross Vršič to the Soča Valley → down through Goriska Brda (we'll be here!) → finish at the seaside via Trieste. A perfect week in Slovenia.

Good to Know

Everything you might be wondering, answered.

👗 What is the dress code?

Cocktail semi-formal. Think flowy midi dresses, tailored suits in light summer fabrics, and chic separates. No colour restrictions — wear whatever makes you feel your most beautiful self! As the ceremony and drinks will take place outdoors, we recommend comfortable footwear — stilettos and cobblestones are not the best of friends. A light wrap or jacket for the evening is a good idea as it can get cooler after sunset.

🚗 Is there parking at the venue?

Parking at the venue is very limited. We strongly encourage guests to make use of our shuttle service, which will be running throughout the evening between the venue and Gorizia, Nova Gorica, and the local hotels and B&Bs. More details on pickup times will be shared closer to the date.

👶 Are children welcome?

We have decided to keep our wedding an adults-only celebration. We hope you understand and take this as an opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved night off!

🍽️ Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Absolutely. Please let us know of any dietary requirements or allergies in your RSVP and we will make sure you are well looked after.

🎁 Do you have a gift registry?

Your presence is the greatest gift of all! If you would like to give something, we would gratefully welcome a contribution towards our honeymoon adventures. Details to follow.

❓ I have another question — who do I contact?

Feel free to reach out to us directly and we'll be happy to help!
